MORIFA Ships 20 Tonnes of Dried Moringa Leaf to China
June 16, 2026
On 1 April 2024, PT Moringa Indonesia Fangardana (MORIFA) released a shipment of 20 tonnes of dried moringa (kelor) leaf — a full 40-foot container — for export to a buyer in China. The container was dispatched from MORIFA’s warehouse and processing facility in Mojokerto, East Java.
“We are grateful for this export, and this achievement is inseparable from everyone involved,” said MORIFA President Director Johnny Lone. He added that the company is proud to help empower local farmers across Indonesia through export activity, noting that the quality of Indonesian moringa leaf is excellent and well suited to international markets.
Demand Outpaces Supply
According to Johnny, MORIFA has even been offered the chance to supply up to ten containers of moringa leaf every month. “The main constraint right now is the limited availability of dried moringa leaf in large, consistent volumes that can keep pace with world market prices,” he explained — underlining how much room there is to grow Indonesia’s moringa supply base.
Building the Industry Together
MORIFA is a member of the Beyond Moringa Indonesia Association (ABMI). Both MORIFA and ABMI have called on stakeholders interested in moringa — from cultivating farmers and processors to entrepreneurs, academics and local governments — to work together to advance Indonesian moringa on the world stage.
“Our competitor is not fellow Indonesians, but India, which currently controls more than 80 percent of the global moringa market,” Johnny said. “Let us strive to make this country the world’s number one moringa producer.”
Beyond dried leaf, MORIFA is a producer and exporter of other moringa raw materials, including moringa seed oil, moringa seeds, and food-grade and cosmetic-grade moringa extracts — turning a tree once called “the Miracle Tree” into a portfolio of export-ready ingredients.
