Malaria continues to claim hundreds of thousands of lives each year, and plant-based remedies like Moringa oleifera are widely used in affected regions. This study tested the anti-malarial potential of ethanol extract of moringa leaf, along with its effect on blood parameters, in infected mice.
Twenty-four mice were divided into six groups, including positive, negative and standard (artesunate) controls, with moringa leaf extract given at doses of 45, 90 and 180 mg/kg body weight. Percentage parasitaemia and haematological parameters were measured.
