Fatty Acids and Minerals in Moringa Seed Oils (M. peregrina and M. oleifera)

2018

As interest in cultivating moringa and producing its oil grows, detailed compositional data becomes commercially important. This open-access study compared the fatty acids and macroelements in seed oils from two moringa species: Moringa peregrina and Moringa oleifera.

Conducted in Saudi Arabia, the oils were extracted by solvent and pressing methods and analysed for their fatty-acid and mineral composition.

What the study covers

Why it matters for MORIFA: Fatty-acid and mineral specs are core data for oil buyers in food and cosmetics. Comparative composition data strengthens the technical dossier behind our moringa oil.

Caveat: composition varies by species, origin and extraction method.
